Our Program Statement
Faith Infant and Early Education Centre has developed a program statement that is consistent with the Minister's policy statement on programming and pedagogy of the Child Care and Early Years Act. The program statement is based on 'How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014),' understanding that learning through play is a child's natural response and that when children are playing, children are learning.
Faith Infant & Early Education Centre and its educators work to promote the health, safety, nutrition and well-being of children in a loving, Christian, learning environment, where children are competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. Understanding that each child is unique and learns at their own pace, Faith Infant and Early Education Centre views each child as an active participant in their own development and learning, thereby creating an environment that leads to greater social, emotional and academic success. It is the purpose of our programs to help each child develop emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually while increasing their language and cognitive development.
Faith Infant and Early Education strives to:
Give every child a sense of belonging so they are connected to others and can contribute to their world, establishing meaningful relationships with others, their caregivers and their environment;
Help each child develop a sense of self, health and well-being that supports their healthy development and their growing sense of self;
Provide an environment and experiences that will engage every child in active, creative and meaningful exploration, play and inquiry, having each child as an active learner who can explore the world with their body, mind and senses; and
View each child as a capable communicator who can express themselves in many ways while fostering communication and expression in all forms.
βIt is our prayer that as each child grows, the solid foundation of learning that Faith Infant and Early Education has provided will help them, from youth to adulthood, in becoming a connected member of society, successful in challenges, capable of critical thinking, diligent in problem solving and knowledgeable in their faith.
